28/29 MAY – SMSP

I have attached the Event Schedule for anybody interested in coming out to Sydney Motorsport Park to watch one of our largest grids for a sprint round – 41 cars.  Racing commences at 8:30am, and we are on second, set the alarms.

R3 Event Schedule Competitor (1)

Morning tea will be on Sunday 29th between races, kicking off at 10:30am in corporate suite 2 (what I have been told).  Also we will be presenting the trophies from our first round at Wakefield Park, way back in February.

Also if anybody is wanting some time out from the pit area, you are always welcome to utilise the corporate suite, we are charged for the whole weekend.  Make use of it.

SIGNAGE

We have restocked our stores if you are requiring any new livery after running at Bathurst.  Also LA Lubricants are running a new logo this year, so it would be best to update your car.  Attached is the mudmap for 2016.  Will try to get all the signage in one garage for ease of collection.  Either find me or Tony Virag, Matt Holt or Ian Heeley.

V8 SUPERCAR DISPLAY – SMSP – EOI

Seeking expression of interest for NSWPTC club cars to display at the August 27/28 round of the V8 Supercars at Sydney Motorsport Park.  This is the weekend after our Rnd 5.  The club will not be attending the Sydney 500 at Homebush this year, as we have Winton Double Crown Endurance on that same weekend 3/4 December 2016.

Return email to me or call Dean Potts 0479 122 370.  We require a commitment of 10 cars to make the display viable for the club.  All costs will be covered by the club.

THE EXTINCTION OF THE MANUAL CAR

This is my little rant after seeing on Sunrise this morning that car manufacturers are wanting to phase out the gearbox due to the up and coming sissy cotton wool kids not being able to master the art of driving and changing gears at the same time.  Choose your next car wisely and ensure the battery is fully charged at all times.  You have been warned.
