We have recently been contacted by the promoters of the Bathurst Motor Festival, held at Easter each year at the famous Mount Panorama Circuit.

As a result of negotiations, we have been offered a significant opportunity at the Mountain. The offering comprises of Prod Touring only schedule of:  

·         40 min practice session,

·         2 x 20 min qualifying sessions,

·         2 x 30 min races and,

·         1 Hour Enduro

A garage on pitlane is included in the entry. This is a significant track time at the best track in the world and Production Touring has been recognized as a category befitting this prestigious event.  (I did this event with Prod Sports this year and it was a very well run and we had more than enough track time between two drivers.)

However, with this step up in venue, comes a financial obligation. We need to commit to filling a grid and will need to pay a surety up front. This is one of those occasions where we require your support and a part payment up front. If we can’t fill the numbers, we still have to sign a cheque for the shortfall.  Members will be given priority in entering.  There is a 55 car capacity but we will have to commit to 40 cars.  Prod Touring members will be given entry priority over any other interested parties.

If we are able to field a grid, we will include it as a round of the club Endurance Championship.

The cost is $2,000 per entry, which, when split between two drivers  is quite reasonable for our own Endurance Race at Mount Panorama.

What you need to do:

·         We need your absolute commitment to participation by the 25 May 14, 2012.

·         A small deposit required by 30 July 2012.

·         Please send your acceptance to Mocomm@optusnet.com.au as soon as possible.

If we don’t get the numbers by the 25 May 14, 2012, we will have to refuse the opportunity.

This will be the first race meeting to be held on this wonderful new facility. The course promises to be challenging, fast, demanding and a very steep learning curve for all involved. This is an experience we all should share together.

Production Touring is going to make this a special event. We want all our members to look back and say “I was there that day in June!”

Forklogic is well known to Prod Touring through it’s support of Paul and we are honored to have them now as a category sponsor.
